In early 2023, a resident from the Eastwick section of Southwest Philadelphia went to Southwest CDC to see if she could get any assistance. She had fallen behind in her mortgage payments when she lost her job. When she went to Southwest CDC, she was 6 months behind. The client and her husband were both employed again, and their income had stabilized. Housing specialist, Kia Hinton, helped the couple get a loan modification so that they could afford the payments and stay in their home.
